Winterthur
After spending a whole season without a club, Gele joined Winterthur in the Swiss Challenge League, the second division of Swiss football. During the 2018–19 season, he played six matches scoring once. His only goal came in a 1–1 draw with Schaffhausen right before half-time.[3][4]
FC Rapperswill-Jona
At the end of the 2018–19 season he was released by Winterthur, but he quickly found a new club, signing with Rapperswil-Jona who had just been relegated. For the 2019–20 campaign, they played in the Swiss Promotion League, the Swiss third division. He played three matches and scored three times in the Swiss Cup as Rapperswil-Jona reached the quarterfinals. In the first round he scored twice, including the winner in the 84th minute as Rapperswill beat Muri 3–2. In the round of 16, Rapperswil won 3–2 against Bulle, with Gele scoring the winning goal in the 70th minute. He played the quarter-final match against Sion but lost 2–1 and were eliminated. Gele played 16 matches, scoring seven goals in the Promotion League. Rapperswil were second in the league until the lower divisions of Switzerland were cancelled for the remainder of the season due to COVID-19.[5][6][3][4]
2020-21 season
During the 2020–21 season, Rapperswil did not compete in the Swiss Cup as only 18 of the usual 45 slots were allocated to lower division teams due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. In the Promotion League, Gele scored the equaliser in the 95th minute in a 1–1 draw with Bellinzona on 15 August. On 12 September, he scored twice in a 3–2 loss to Sion U21. On 19 September, he scored the third goal and assisted another in a 5–1 win over Black Stars. He scored a hat-trick on 26 September in a 6–1 win over Köniz. On 10 April 2021, he came off the bench in the 79th minute and scored a penalty in the 90th minute to defeat Münsingen 3-0.[7]
